Chemistry Club

Are you naturally curious about what makes up the everyday things you see?

Are you fascinated by the vast possibilities that lie in biotechnology and pharmaceutical research, food product development, medicine, and toxic substance management?

If the answer is "yes" then a major in chemistry may be right for you. What better way to learn about chemistry than by joining the CSU Chemistry Club!

Colorado Local Section of the American Chemical Society

The Colorado Section of the ACS provides ACS members in the state with monthly meetings on the matters of science, employment, and career development. Local Section meeting calendars are available on the web, along with the leadership contact lists.

El Centro Student Organization

The organization serves and supports Chicano and Latino students. They offer:

  • Academic, personal, and social counseling
  • Assistance in transition to CSU
  • Free Academic workshops/tutoring
  • Financial Aid guidance
  • Resume development
  • Community Outreach
  • Books, periodicals, and films on Chicano/Hispanic/Latino issues

Native American Student Services

The mission is to ensure a successful educational experience for Native American students through advocacy and support services. They:

  • Assist in personal, social and academic growth
  • Help with transition to college life while maintinaing native culture
  • Educate local communities about Native American history, culture, and philosophies
  • Recruit Native American students through contacts with reservation schools and other large Native American communities
  • Serve as advocates for Native American students during their time at Colorado State

Women in Chemistry

Colorado State University - Women in Chemistry was founded to address the needs and concerns of women in science.  The group is supported by the local ACS chapter and individual contributions.  They are involved in:

  • Brown bag lunches
  • Workshops
  • Sponsorship of women seminar speakers
  • Charity drives
  • Social activities to enhance mentoring

National Organizations

Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science

SACNAS encourages Chicano/Latino and Native American students to pursue graduate education and obtain the advanced degrees necessary for research careers and science teaching professions at all levels. Each year, SACNAS holds a scientific meeting for undergraduate and graduate students in the sciences and holds career development workshops for students and faculty alike.

The National Organization of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers

The mission of NOBCChE is to build an eminent community of scientists and engineers by increasing the number of minorities in these fields. NOBCChE achieves its mission through diverse programs designed to foster professional development and encourage students to pursue careers in science and technical fields.
